As an alternative to solid wood, there is engineered wood flooring, available in various lengths and widths,
generally 14-15mm thick with a thicker heavy duty option too. The boards are manufactured for stability with a
3-4mm thick real wood top wear layer. The usual method of fitting is to float over an underlay but can be secret
nailed or glued if required and is suitable for use over under floor heating.
